Easy installation, good music, fun game.Longer version:I've always wanted to play this game, but my low-end laptop didn't have the GPU power to play it. Amazing price via Amazon, and it got here pretty quickly.Unpacking was a breeze, as was installation.
It has tutorials in-game for everything you'll need to master the game, and also has online multiplayer which is pretty cool.Anyway, for the price, I think this is definitely a game worth anybody's collection :-) Installation went smoothly and the game looks great.
Running Windows 7 x64 had me worrying that I'd need to format the computer and have XP running side by side with 7, but just to try it out, I went ahead and popped in the DVD. At least for me, the game isn't easy, but the music is great, and hopefully with practice it'll be easier for me to keep up.
Windows 7 64-bit reviewSUMMARY: Advertised NOT to work with x64, but at least in Windows 7 64-bit, it DOES WORK. Now that I have my gamer rig, this was one of the games I just had to get.
I was scared about the drivers for the guitar, but I went ahead and plugged it in, and 7 installed the drivers in just under a minute, which was awesome.
Like i said even on low graffix mine are better than my friends Wii lol. The min PC requirements since i couldn't find them on amazon anywhere b4 I purchased would be on the Aspyr website. I expect that it will play perfectly once i upgrade my processor to what they ask for but its good enough for me right now the notes hit in the right places and i don't need the graffix on high(seeing as it is better than the graffix on a Wii console even on low lol) So I would say if you have never gamed on the PC you plan to install this on then make sure you have at least the min req and be prepared to do a lot of tinkering with the settings to get it to run smoothly. So all in all I don't think there is any reason not to buy this product unless your machine is not up to spec or if you have the $$ to blow on a xbox or playstation. This is kind of the guitar hero you love ^_< I am running vista ultimate 32 on a semi self built machine that is not entirely up to the specs required at least where my processor is concerned. However my video card well exceeded the min requirements the game asks for and as long as I turn down some of the graffix features in the game like lens flare(whatever that is) and don't run a bunch of programs in the background it plays pretty darn well not exactly like on my friends consoles but pretty darn close. There is also a patch on their website that improves performance on slower machines.
Dating back to some of the best groups from the 70s and 80s Guitar Hero has instantly become an overnight sensation. This is definitely a game for all ages. Guitar Hero 3: Legends of Rock is nothing short of an exciting adventure into the realm of Rock and Roll. The game play is extraordinary and allows those who might not be instrumentally-inclined to play as some of their favorite rock and roll bands and battle against others in the race to be the best rocker in the world.
I recieved my GH3 bundle yesterday, it is a great game, it runs very smothly in my MBP, I was affraid it would not run as it should due to all the comments I read but my computer meets the minimum requirements and it works great, between songs it takes a while to load but thats ok, its about a minute no more than that, nothing that a memory upgrade wont fix, I played for 8 hrs yesterday with my kid and we both love it, looking forward for hours and hours of fun.
I love this game and it works flawlessly in my Macbook, I use it connected to the TV and home theater.I really suggest you buy this game, it's really entertaining specially if you own to guitars and play along with other.
